We plan days around the best fishing opportunities, but we schedule in other adventures as well. You won’t be just fishing all day, every day. Your group will be fishing and touring together, so this format is a great family or corporate retreat. We include the round trip float plane flight from Gold River Air Nootka or for those of you who prefer not to fly, we can transport by boat instead. The flight from Gold River is about 15 minutes, or by boat, the trip is 40 to 60 minutes depending on conditions.
For those of you traveling by plane to Vancouver Island, shuttles from Comox airport through beautiful Strathcona Park may be arranged.
We may visit Esperanza’s mission. We set prawn and crab traps and if successful we’ll cook them on the boat or that evening. Conditions permitting, we’ll pick up oysters and clams to cook that night. Floatplane trip to the natural hot springs at Hot Springs Cove (additional charges for the floatplane for this excursion).

Your chalet is stocked with breakfast cereal, fruit, and fresh daily baking, for a quick serve yourself meal before fishing in the morning. Your group is also welcome to return to the lodge for hot breakfast (no additional charges for any meals) in our cafe during breakfast hours.
Lunch and snacks will be packed for the boat so you’re not committed to return to the lodge just for meals when you’re having fun.
The evening meal we will have prepared at your chalet, served family style. The menu includes fresh local seafood and other meats, salads, vegetables, with daily fresh bread, baking and desserts. Nothing pretentious – just fresh, simple and delicious.
What you should pack:
Camera, Sunglasses, Toiletries (including shampoo, sunscreen, and prescriptions), Clothing for a range of temperatures from cold and wet to hot and sunny. We have rain gear, boots, and beach towels for your use here.
We’re looking forward to having you here in beautiful Nootka.
